Skip the X developer application and the monthly X API subscription. One YepAPI key works on every Twitter endpoint the minute you sign up.
Twitter API pricing: $0.01 per call
Every Twitter / X endpoint is a flat $0.01 per call. Failed calls are free and there is no minimum spend. New accounts get $5 in free credit, which is 500 calls.
Tweets, users, search, and trends
Search with full X operators, pull any account's timeline, followers, and following, open any tweet with its replies, quotes, and retweeters, and read trending topics for about 467 places.
A tweet scraper, as an API
Clean, consistent JSON for every tweet and profile, with views, likes, media, and links. No headless browsers, logged-in sessions, or proxies to maintain.

A Twitter API and X API for tweets, users, search, and trends
YepAPI's Twitter API (the X API, since Twitter became X) gives you 15 endpoints for public X data: tweet search, user profiles, timelines, followers and following, single tweets with their replies, quotes, and retweeters, and trending topics. Every endpoint is a POST request with a JSON body and costs $0.01 per call.
Every tweet comes back in the same shape, with text, timestamps, views, likes, retweets, replies, quotes, bookmarks, hashtags, mentions, links, media, and the author's full profile. Every user comes back in the same shape too, so one parser covers search results, timelines, follower lists, and retweeters.
The data is public X data. YepAPI is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by X Corp.
What is the Twitter API (X API)?
The Twitter API, now called the X API, is how software reads data from X: tweets, profiles, followers, search results, and trends. The official X API requires a developer account application and a paid access tier for most read access. YepAPI's Twitter API returns the same kinds of public data with one API key and pay-per-call pricing. Start with the Twitter Search API or the Tweet API.
X API key and Twitter API key: you only need one
You do not need an X API key, a Twitter API key, bearer tokens, or a developer portal project. Create a YepAPI key in the dashboard and send it in the x-api-key header. That one key covers every X endpoint here, from the Twitter User API to the Twitter Trends API, plus our Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, SEO, and AI APIs.
Twitter API pricing and X API pricing
Every endpoint costs $0.01 per call, with no monthly subscription and no charge for failed calls. A page of tweets (20 by default, up to about 100) is one call, so 1,000 tweets costs roughly $0.50, and a profile refresh for 10,000 accounts with the Bulk Users API costs $1. That is the whole X API cost: no tier to pick, no approval wait, and $5 of free credit to start.
Twitter scraper, tweet scraper, X scraper
If you were about to build a Twitter scraper, this replaces it. The Tweet Scraper API pulls any account's timeline, the Twitter Search API works like an X scraper for any query, and the Twitter Followers API lists followers with full profiles. No browser automation, no login sessions, no proxies.
Is there a free Twitter API?
Every new YepAPI account gets $5 in free credit with no card, which is 500 Twitter API calls. That is enough to search thousands of tweets or look up tens of thousands of profiles while you prototype. After that you pay $0.01 per call with no minimum, so a small project stays cheap.
Looking for an X API alternative?
YepAPI gives you the same data with simpler pricing. One API key, pay per call, no monthly minimums.
What developers say

“The $5 free credit let us prototype our entire rank tracking feature before committing. No other API does that.”
Frequently asked questions
The Twitter API (now the X API) lets software read data from X: tweets, user profiles, followers, search results, and trends. YepAPI's Twitter API covers it in 15 endpoints, all returning consistent JSON at $0.01 per call, with no developer account or monthly tier.
Twitter was renamed X in 2023, so "Twitter API" and "X API" mean the same thing. YepAPI is not the official X API; it is an independent API that returns public X data with simpler access and pay-per-call pricing.
Every YepAPI Twitter / X endpoint costs $0.01 per call. There is no monthly subscription and no minimum, and failed calls are free. New accounts get $5 of free credit, which covers 500 calls.
No. You do not need to apply for an X developer account or create an X API key. Sign up for YepAPI, create a key in the dashboard, and send it in the x-api-key header. The same key works on every endpoint.
YepAPI gives every new account $5 in free credit with no card required, enough for 500 calls. After that you pay $0.01 per call with no monthly minimum.
Yes. The Tweet Scraper API returns any public account's tweets with full metrics, the Twitter Search API returns tweets for any query or operator, and the Tweet API returns a single tweet by id or URL. You get the output of a tweet scraper without running one.
Use requests.post with your key in the x-api-key header and a JSON body, for example {"username": "NASA"} to /v1/twitter/user-tweets. The response has a tweets array and a cursor; pass the cursor back to get the next page. No SDK is needed.
Yes. The Twitter Followers API and Twitter Following API return full profiles for each account, with cursor pagination. Pass a username or a numeric user id.
Responses are cached briefly to keep them fast: latest search results for 2 minutes, timelines and search for 10 minutes, single tweets for 15 minutes, trends for 10 minutes, and profiles for an hour.
No. YepAPI is an independent service that returns publicly available X data. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp. You are responsible for using the data in line with the laws and terms that apply to your use case.
