The Backlink History API returns a domain's backlink profile as a time series: one row per month with total backlinks, referring domains, referring pages and authority rank, plus the new and lost backlinks and referring domains for that month.

What is a backlink history API?
A backlink history API returns how a site's link profile changed over time, not just its current size. For each month you get the totals at month end and the movement during the month — backlinks gained, backlinks lost, referring domains gained and lost. YepAPI serves it at /v1/seo/backlinks/history: post a target and an optional date range and get the series back as clean JSON.
New versus lost links for any period
Net totals hide churn: a site that gains 4 million links and loses 12 million in a month looks very different from one that is simply flat. Because each month reports new and lost counts separately for both backlinks and referring domains, you can report link acquisition and link loss as separate numbers, sum them across any range of months, and flag unusual months automatically.
