The Subreddit Comments API for real-time comment streams

The YepAPI Subreddit Comments API returns the newest comments from across a whole subreddit. Send a subreddit to /v1/reddit/subreddit-comments and get back comments with author, body, score, permalink, and the title and URL of the post each one belongs to, at $0.01 per call.

Most Reddit conversation happens in comments, not post titles. This endpoint lets you listen to all of it in one community without crawling every thread.

What does the Subreddit Comments API return?

A comments array plus a cursor. Each comment has id, name, author, body, score, subreddit, permalink, parent_id, post_id, post_title, post_url, created_utc, created_at, edited, stickied, and is_submitter. The post fields let you group comments by thread or link straight back to the conversation.

Build a comment-level listening tool

Poll /v1/reddit/subreddit-comments for the communities you care about, match the body against your keywords, and alert on hits with a link to the permalink. Send the text to an AI endpoint on the same key to score sentiment or classify intent.

Subreddit Comments API pricing: $0.01 per call

Every call costs a flat $0.01 and failed calls are free. There is no monthly minimum, no seat fee, and no Reddit app to register: you only need a YepAPI key. Comment feeds are cached for 15 minutes.

Comments in a community vs. comments on a post

This endpoint gives you recent comments across a whole subreddit. To read the full nested discussion under one post, use the Reddit Comments API (/v1/reddit/post-comments), which returns the comment tree with replies.
